NVC in Schools

Our students are so important to us, and yet we struggle daily to communicate and share with them in ways that meet their needs and our own. Teaching does not have to be a choice between controlling children and giving in to them.TEACHING FROM YOUR HEART: CONNECTING WITH CHILDREN THROUGH COMPASSIONBased on the work of Marshall Rosenberg and the Center for Nonviolent Communication, Pioneer Valley NVC offers professional development workshops aimed to supporting educators in creating schools and classrooms where compassion and cooperation naturally thrive and we feel the joy of learning.

Offering:
> a language and consciousness of compassion that improves relationships at school &  home
> practice in honest expression and empathic listening
> skills to support dialogue and reduce conflicts in the face of judgment, criticism, and anger
> “power with” strategies rather than “power over” strategies to manage student behavior.
> games and activities we can use with students
> a no-blame approach to the issue often labeled as “bullying.”

Who is it For?
