- minutes of previous meeting were approved
- Defining New England: There was a question asking for clarity on what we define as New England. Decision: There was agreement that a list of states would be added to the Mission Statement by putting an asterisk after the first time the term New England is used, and the list would be at the bottom of the page. (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut)
- There was a short explanation by Jerry on “Where Are We?” in regards to the development of Circles, how they are might flow information from and to CNVC. We discussed the image of concentric circles as apposed to the view of circles flowing up and down.
- Information Technology Committee.
- At this time the IT Committee consists of Bonnie, Beverly, Jerry and Pan. It is a volunteer committee.
- A proposal was put forth that involved the recognition by the Circle of the Committee, fund raising to get resources to fund the creation of a website and data base.
- Many questions were raised, particularly around privacy and access to the database, and fundraising. A question by Peggy on the use of PayPal was put forth. Peggy also offered to approach two people from the Maine NVC Network in regards to joining the Committee in some capacity.
- Decision: We authorize the creation of an IT Committee
- To consist of Pan Vera, Bonnie Mioduchosky, Beverly Woods and Jerry as its initial members, with the authority to accept new members
- To explore the creation of a website that aims to contribute to meeting NENVC aims, specifically to
- offer information about NVC and NVC activities in New England
- include a New England wide database of NVC interested people
- allow for online registration and payment for workshops and events
- develop a proposal regarding privacy and access in relation to the website and the database
- How Do We Structure the New England NVC Circle
- This was only discussed briefly due to time. We wondered about the size of the circle and started to think about how members might be chosen. We identified 5 - 7 regional groups and discussed having a leader and a delegate from each group. It was agreed that since much of New England did not have NVC networks/groups established, some careful consideration would be fruitful in choosing a Circle that would be effective and represent a broad constituency.
- Jerry, Bonnie and Peggy were there to do check-out at 9:00
