New England NVC Circle – Minutes for Tuesday September 16

 

Present: Jerry Koch-Gonzalez (facilitator and minute taker), Pan Vera, Joe Brummer, Judy Nommik (left near end of call)

Absent: Bonnie Mioduchoski

1.      Administrative items

1.1.   Consented to Jerry Koch-Gonzalez being the facilitator & notetaker for today.

1.2.   Next meeting set for October 14 at 1PM:

1.3. Consent to the agenda for today

 

2.      Decision: Approved staffing and fundraising plan as follows

2.1.   Staffing plan

2.1.1.      Jerry as Coordinator of NENVC

2.1.2.      Equivalent of one day a week (7 hours)

2.1.3.      Pay as funding allows up to $5000

2.1.4.      On a consultant basis (not employee)

2.1.5.      6 month commitment, option to renew (and revise)

2.1.6.      Monthly written report; 6 month evaluation

2.2.   Work plan build out of NENVC infrastructure

2.2.1.      Generate and/or support circle development in our 6 identified regions

2.2.2.      Policy research and development in support of well-functioning of NENVC (financial, database access, representation on website, etc.)

2.2.3.      Support development of website

2.2.4.      Administrative support for NENVC: log keep, note taking (as needed), bookkeeping

2.2.5.      Support information sharing across NE Circles and with other NVC entities

2.2.6.      Represent NENVC in relation to other NVC entities (Americas Circle, GCC, etc)

2.2.7.      Fundraising

2.3.   Fundraising plan

2.3.1.      Appeal letter to NE NVCers

2.3.2.      Appeals at workshops

 

3.      Decision:  New England NVC will formally be a project of the Institute for Peaceable Communities (IPC). IPC is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation incorporated in Massachusetts. Jerry is on its Board and supporting the growth of NVC is already an approved project area of IPC.
